Principal Paul Pallagi

Greetings Pinehurst Families, my name is Paul Pallagi and I am the proud Principal of Pinehurst Elementary. I am a graduate of Charleston Southern University where I obtained both my bachelors and masters degrees in education. I started my career with Charleston County School District (CCSD) in 2008, where I served as a fourth grade teacher at Ladson Elementary. During my years at Ladson, I served as grade level chair and grants liaison, receiving two academic grants for the school to support farm to table education, school gardens, and outdoor education. In 2012, I was honored to be nominated the Teacher of the Year at Ladson Elementary and was a top five finalist for the school district.

In 2013, I transitioned into the role as a teacher coach at Northwoods Middle School. In this role, I worked with teachers to create effective curriculum-based, technology-rich lessons that supported personal mastery. The following year, I joined the school administration, taking the position of assistant administrator for the school’s seventh grade students and faculty before transitioning to Chicora Elementary School to serve as assistant principal in 2014.

Throughout my time at Chicora, I helped manage and support school operations through the implementation of positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS), fundraising to support school incentives, budget analysis for allocations and yearly planning, classroom observations, and management of school discipline and safety. After four years, I transitioned to the assistant principal position at Springfield Elementary School in West Ashley where I served for the next four years.

Throughout my career in education, I have made it my mission to serve the students and families of my school.  As the Principal of Pinehurst Elementary I want all of my families to know that it is my goal to make Pinehurst a top performing school, where teachers and students work together to achieve the goal of academic success.  I look forward to meeting with students, parents and community members as we work together to make Pinehurst the best school in CCSD.
