Pinehurst Elementary Highlights Our School Counselors

During National School Counselor's Week, Ms.Valentin and Ms. Johnson shared why they became school counselors.

Ms. Johnson shared that she became a counselor because she wanted to help kids and be a safe place for them to come and talk to and support them.  "I offer students and families a non-judgemental ear plus understanding.  Every student and family is unique in their needs, so I help them find those resources"..

Ms. Valentin stated that she became a counselor to help others by creating a safe space where children feel comfortable expressing themselves.  "Speaking a student's native language can immediately create a sense of trust and rapport.  It shows you care and are willing to go the extra mile to understand them".

Pinehurst is honored to have two wonderful school counselors to guide and encourage our students and families.
